Delivered by Hannah Buckley and Dylan Evans, Facilities and Investment Managers, The Football Association, this is the title of one of the presentations at the Enterprising Asset Transfer in Leisure, Sport and Community conference which takes place The Portland Centre, Nottingham on25th March.

A one-day conference focuses on how community groups, sports clubs, trusts and parish councils and others can best take over the ownership and management of assets from local authorities and run them as vibrant and viable social enterprises

The FA is reliant on the public sector to facilitate the nations favourite game, with over 80% of grassroots football facilities owned and managed by Local Authorities.  Public sector funding cuts is having a detrimental effect on the infrastructure and quality of grassroots football facilities in England. The disposal of sports facilities under a community asset transfer is an increasingly attractive option for local authorities as they seek alternative ways in delivering local services. For some football clubs this has proved to be beneficial.  Dylan Evans the author of The FA Asset Transfer Guide and Hannah Buckley will take you through their experiences of what can be achieved and some of the challenges clubs face and what support is available from The FA.

Hannah has been in the Football Industry for over 15 years working in the West Midlands and South West region in a variety of different roles. She has worked in all facets of the grassroots game.

Hannah joined The FA over 5 years ago and has secured over £50 million investment into a range of Football Facilities across The West Midlands region.

Dylan has worked in the community sports industry for more than 20 years working in the South East and London regions.  Prior to working for The FA, Dylan worked in a variety of public sector sports development and grant funding roles.
